Better for me if i had passed by and left it to dream on in its then unbroken solitude; but ever way ward and impul? sive. I could not resist the desire to cross once more its'familiar threshofd. The chart of Time had been unrolled, and six months more had been added to. its catalogue since last I stood within those walls.- Sadly, solemnly, my foot-fall echoed through the deserted building, and i murmured ? sadly?all gone! Has tiino so soon wrought ' sue i changes ? Tho wind sighed through the old grove,"the doors creaked on their timeworn hinges, murmuring the sad refrain?gone, gone ! all have ' patted (way.
