of our valued friend, Col. Thomas Parks, which
occurred at his residence on Savannah River last
Saturday morning,j23rd instant, after an illness of

THE LEGISLATURE.
This body adjourned on Thursday last. The
much-taiced of " Code " was adopted, and we shall
present it in our columns from week to week until
the whob is published; beginning with our next
issue. Uio Code comprises three Acts, namely',
?'To trmcid the Criminal Law "?" To Establish
District Coirts," and "To Establish und Regulate
the Law in Relation to Paupers and Vagrancy."
Tho importance of these several Act; , which have
occupied samuch time and thought d iring the ses?
sion, induces us to lay thorn before jur readers;
