The Fidelity and Trust company, of Aiken, has b^en organized with a cap ital of $25,000, with the privilege of in creasing it to $50,000. Mr. II. M. Dib ble has been elected president and Mr. A A. Woodburn secretary and treasur er. The company will be ready for busi ness on the 1st January next. Its bus iness will be to buy and sell land, care for estates, and to assume such trusts as are usually assumed by trust com panies. The Hotel Park in the pines was formally opened for the season on last Friday, the 15th instant. Then* are al ready several guests in the house, and a number of rooms are engaged from the first week in January. There is every prospect of a fine season. Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Wadsworth, of Middletown, Conn., who occupied tho Croft place on South Boundary avenue ls»st season, and who leased the place foj this season, and leased the place for this season also, have announced their intention not to visit Aiken this year. Land Salas. Mr. E W. Murray has purchased a lot on Orangeburg street, paying $40o for it. Dr. Chas. Toole has purchased from Mr. E. W. Murray, 44 acres, one mile north of Aiken for $1,200. Mr. \V. C. Bell, of Graniteville, has bought from Mr. C. A. Holley, of Au gusta, 38 acres ’near Langley, paying $125 for it. R. J Wade, Jr , has bought 117 acres from George H. Atwood, for $1,525. ■. -Wi J . Turnipseed was transferred from Aiken to the pastor ate of the Green Street Methodist church in Columbia; and Rev. J. S. Beasley assigned to St John’s church here in this place. ^.The community of Aiken will regret to part with Mr. Turnipseed. as he has endeared himself by his earnest Christian character to many even cut- side of his own church. Among the other assignments to churches in this section were: Rev. J W. Neeley to Graniteville ; Rev. H. J. Cauthen, lo North Augusta ; Rev. J. C. Holley, to Wagoner; and Rev J. R. T.
