rious accident occurred to tlio south-
hound passenger train oh the Char
lotte, Columbia and Augusta Rail
road Sunday afternoon, five miles
north ot Rock Hill. An obstruction
was placed on the track, which Ifirew

sleeper, mail and exiirgss 1 ,' smoking
and first class cars.The entire train
was badly dpipofished." No pussen-
gers were Injured. Tlie train has

and the obstruction was placed at a

The accident occurred at 2:15 this
afternoon. Tlie engine and three
cars were totally wrecked, but the
sleeper remained on the track, only
the front trucks being knocked oil.
The obstructions on the track were a
