building of the Carolina, Cumberland
Gap & Chicago Railway will com
mence work' to-rimrrow with a force
of two hundred hands The road will
be built by the Ridge Route which is
the nearest and most practicable. ”
This information was obtained from
M|\ Potts himself, in the presence of
several other gentlemen, who has
frequently slated that the RiJge
Reute was the most practicable am 1

twenty to twenty-five thousand dol
lar.
