FORT M!^L MATTERS Mad Dog Appears and Gets Killed? Entertainment by High School Pupils?Evangelical Club Conduct Services. Correspondence The Yorkvllle Enquirer Fort Mill, S.t C?, December 11.?A dog, supposed to be affected with rabies, caused considerable excitement in Fort Mill early Sunday morning when he entered town at the southern limits and, in passing through to the northern limits, bit the 12-year-old son of Furman Wells,' and a negro named Simon Jackson besides dogs and possibly other animals. He was killed by citizens just beyond the northern limits, and the head sent to.Clcmson college for examination. Treatment has been given the boy and man who were bitten to counteract rabies. The high school pupils will give a public entertainment in the auditorium tonight in which there is much general, interest, since the entertainment will be in the nature of a dedication of the new stage scenery which has just been completed. There are four full sets of this scenery with a drop curtain, and the installation has made a great improvement in the appearance and the acoustics of the auditorium. Owing to the illness of the pastor, the Rev. R. H. Viser, the morning service in -the Presbyterian church Sunday was conducted by members of the Rock Hill Business Men's Evangelical club, the principal addresses being made by Dr. Roy Z. Thomas, while J. E. Pryor and J. C. Helms took other parts in the service. > ? By an overwhelming majority Friday Chester voters cast their ballots for the one hundred and fifty thousand dollar new high school building bond issue. Bonds will be quickly sold, it is thought, and work on a new and modern structure will be started at an early date; it is hoped to have it ready fcr use by next September. R. Brockman, superintendent, are accomplishing an excellent work. ? A northbound Atlantic Coast Line express train crashed into the rear of the Charleston-Columbia local, eleven miles north of Charleston, Saturday morning. I. R. Simril, in the 65th year of her age. The deceased before her marriage was Miss Matthews. The interment was at Ebenczer on Saturday, following funeral services conducted by Rev. F. H. At her home in Rock Hill yesterday morning at 11:20 o'clock. Mrs. MINNIE HANNA, wife of R. S. Hanna, aged 61 years. The deceased was a native of Yorkville and was a daugh- ' ter of the late John S. Sadler. She is survived by her husband, and adopted daughter. Miss Miriam Miller, and one brother, Mr. John S. Sadler of Tirzah. The interment was in Laurelwood comt? ry, ltoek Hill, this morning, after funeral services by Rev. Alexander Martin. In Roek Hill, Sunday morning, Mr. I.. B. ALLEY, aged 47 years. He leaves a widow and five children. The interment was in Laurelwood, Rock Hill, yesterday afternoon, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. T. A. Snyder.
