Dicker! to Build Store. G. K. Dickert, well Known memiam of'Rock Hill, is having a new store built on the site of.his old store on Moore street in Rock Hill. The new building which is being constructed by S. H. Blake will cost ubout $2,000 and will be 34\47 feet. It will be completed In about two weeks. King's Mountain Road. The King's Mountain road between Filbert and Yorkville past the home of John Q. Hall, is open again but has not been sanded. If the weather permits. however, the work of sanding will be completed within a few days. While the road is passable today, a heavy rain would put it in bad shape again. ' York Logs for Furniture. York county poplar logs continue to be In great demand by North Carolina furniture mills. Frank Jackson, Bethel township farmer had .about 12,000 feet of poplar logs on the sidetrack at Clover this week ready for shipment to a concern at Lenotr. Many farmers in the vicinity of Clover are finding the poplar log business profitable at this time. t Lots of Birds Left. 1 lUi-n hunters have not killed all the birds during the present hunting season which closes March 1. Dr. J. J. (?lcnn, Howe M. Inman, Robert "Withcrspoon and several others composed a party of bird hunters who spent Wednesday on Mr. Withurspoon's place in Uethesda township. They killed fortv-fivo partridges during the day. Business Change at Clover. Messrs. M. L. Ford & Sons of Clover, have taken over the recently organized Clover Furniture Company. The transaction was agreed upon last Monday night and consumated on Tuesday. Messrs. M. L. Ford & Sons will continue the operation of the business of .the Clover Furniture Company in the business now occupied by that concern for the present. ? McConnellsville School Lot. John M. Love of McConnellsville, a member of the board or trustees 01 ?icConnellsville school who was in Yorkville yesterday said that the trustees had recently purchased a four acre lot from R. VV. McConnell on which it is proposed to erect a new school building: at McConnellsville. The new site is located just across the road from the present building and is considered ideal for a school location. The trustees expect to begin construction of the new building within a 3hort while. I Mad Dog Bites Show People. The following from the Columbia i State this morning will be of interest J locally since this company played in the city hall auditorium here Tuesday night: Four members of the cast which presented "The Rose of Washington Square" at the Columbia theater Wednesday night were bitten by a fox terrier pup which was being carried with the troupe. The dog, which died in Columbia, was turned over to the state laboratory, which examined the head of the animal for rabies. Reports from the laboratory yesterday were to the effect, that positive results were had, which means that the pup had rabies. Arthur Morris, member of the copipany, reported, the case to T. P. Norton of the city health department and turned the body of the dog over to the department for examination. It was taken to the state laboratory where the tests were made and it was found that the dog was suffering from rabies. The troupe had gone from Columbia to Chester and Dr. Jean LaBorde, city neaun oiul-ci, ed the company of the result of the examination. The names of the members I of the company who were bitten by the dog were not known at the health department. N. Dulin, of Bethel; Mr. R. M. Dulin, of Bowling Green, Mrs. A. E. Sifford and Mrs. J. W. Patrick. The interment was at Bethel yesterday afternoon after funeral services by Rev. G. W. Nickcll.
