No Road to Bridge.
.Mr. Marshall Fulls, who is operating j
a saw mill within a few miles of thej
site of the new-joint county bridge I
oyer the Catawba, was in Yorkville, i
Saturday. In conversation he mentioned
the fact that there is no piacti-l
cable road on the York county side of j
the river to within a mile and a half;
of the bridge. Although most of the j
heavy approach work is being huili on;
the York county side of the river, alii
the materials have to do iransicrrvui
across l?y cable from the Mecklenburg |
side. It will l>e sevt ral months, of i
course, bdfore the bridge can be com-1
looted and whether or not tlte road j
?iucstinn will be seriously taken up in [
the meantime has not been definitely
decided.

The Pi'.pies National Bank of Rock

of cotton crop conditions in South!
Carolina showing changes between;
August 25, the date of the government I
report, and September 15. The gov- j

u condition of 5ft per cent, and an ir.di- 1
rated yiet'd of 74 1,00ft bales. The Pro- j

an indicated yield of GW.OOO bales. The
report alyo says that Where possible,
the banks will assist, in the orderly
markiting of the crop now being gathered;
but the extent of this assistance I
will depend on the financial strength of.
the producers and the help to be oh- ,
