is being put on the ground for
t!\e remodeling of the front of the
building occupied by the Diehl-Moore
Shoe Company and other business
places owned by the White Estate on
Main street ?Since it was learned
recently that Maj. Lindsay McFadden
had filed his application for the position
of postmaster at this place, interested
returned soldiers and others have
asked us if we had any notice of the
matter being opened up to returned
soldiers and we told them that we had
not. They stated that if the matter
had been opened to thetn that they
did not understand why they had not
be^i informed and given an opportunity
to" file their applications too. In
order to get the proper information
for them, we wrote to Congressman
Stevenson and asked him to give us in
deptif for publication information as to
the re-opening of the examination for
postmastership to returned soldiers if
such had been done and why all had
not been notified, that we undrestood

nothing of the matter having been

whtjhj, states that all returned soldiers,
safldrs and marines are entitled to
stand for the places by the matter being
re-opened under this act, that they

31, 1919 in which to file their applications.
