Clover, Sept. 12.?The Clover Graded
school began work last Wednesday and
the outlook for a successful session is
very encouraging. About 200 pupils
have entered the school which Is again
under the direction of Prof. Baxter C.
Riddle. Misses Ruby Willtford, Euza11a
Wilson and Hannah Barton have
been added to the faculty.
The new crop cotton is coming Into

ket. and Clover ginneries are busily
engaged in handling the cotton which
is being brought in. The price today
is 12 5-8 cents.
Farmers In the immediate vicinity
are well pleased with the prospects
for a good crop and the majority of
If them are busily engaged in picking cotton
and pulling fodder.
Quite a number of Clover young people
leave for the various colleges this
week. Several of those who graduated
at the Graded school last year will enter
the freshman class of the various
colleges of the state.
Invitations are out for the marriage
of Miss Mary Adams to Mr. John Edgar
Brlson, the ceremony to take place
in. the Presbyterian church on Septem^

Government Farm Magazine.?The
United States government will become
a magazine publisher for the benefit of
farmers. "The Agricultural Outlook," a
t periodical of twenty pages, to appear
' monthly, will be issued by the department
of agriculture beginning this
month. A review of crop conditions,
articles dealing scientifically with the
production of crops, general information
as to the best time and place to
market will make up the content^. The
information will be prepared in a purely
popular way, department officials
said today in announcing the advent of
the periodical.
? Anderson special of September 10,
to the News and Courier: A meeting
of the stockholders of the Anderson Intelligenoer,
which was recently taken
over by a syndicate of business men,
* was held In this city yesterday, and
the following officers of .the corporation
elected: W. W. Sullivan, president;
J. 8. Fowler, vice president; Porter A.
Whaley, secretary-treasurer; M. L.
Bonham, attorney; Wm. Banks, managing
editor. For the present the AnI
derson Intelligencer will remain a
semi-weekly paper, but later on will be
merged into a morning dally. The capital
