TILLMAN TALKS POLITICS.
Interviewed By Representative of the
Associated Press.
Columbia. March 31.?Senator B.
R. Tillman was better today and the
day before than he has been since his
Illness.
A representative of the Associated
Press called on the senator at his
P home this morning and found him
alone In his library. He was lying upon
a couch reading the morning mall.
I^ater he changed his position to a
large rooking chair and had his
breakfast brought in. He ate heartily
and seemed to relish his food.
1 ?urlng and after breakfast Senator
f Tillman talked upon a great vunnj
of subjects, ranging from anatomy to
national politics.
In appearance the senator seems to
be in his usual good health. He does
not, however, feel that he will be able
to return to congress this session. He
expects to go to an Atlanta sanitarium
as soon as he feels strong
enough to stand traveling. He and
Mrs. Tillman will remain there for
several weeks, after which they will
go to Europe for a complete rest,
f Senator Tillman said today that he
felt satisfied that he must not take
on any more work Just now, and that
it would require time to show when
he would be able to do so.
He said that he had no plans with
regard to politics as he could not now
* see far enough ahead to make It worth
while.
He could not now tell whether he
would attend the state Democratic
convention, but Indicated that If his
health permitted he would do so.
"Senator, do you favor an instruced
delegation to the Denver convention:
he- was asked.
"Well, I have not been elected a
delegate yet, and for that reason I do)
* not think It proper for me to say what
the convention ought to do."
"What about national politics, senator;
Do you think that Bryan will be
nominated, and what are his chances
of election?
"It all depends on one thing: If the
9 Republicans nominate Taft for president
at the June convention Bryan
will undoubtedly be named by the
Democrats, and I think he will win,
but on the other hand, if the Republicans
lock up the convention and
stampede It for Roosevelt and nominate
him, I do not think the Democrats
can put Bryan forward."
"Do you think the matter of a
third term would defeat Roosevelt?"
"Well all that Bryan could say
would be third term, because he has
praised the politics of Roosevelt and
there would be nothing left for him to
say."
"If the Republicans nominate
* Roosevelt who do you think the Democrats
would put up?"
"That I am unable to say," replied
the senator.
"Just as soon as possible," he said,
"I want to take a special treatment of
massage baths and electricity. Further
than this I have no plans for the
future. I am going to Europe just as
soon as I feel strong enough to make
the voyage."
"Will you study the question of
immigration while there?"
* "Study? I am not going over there
to study. I want to rest and renew
my acquaintance with English history
and literature."?Columbia State.
? Separated from her son, William G.
V Cooper of 184 Clairmont avenue, by
nearly one hundred miles, Mrs. Cooper
of Philadelphia, on Sunday night
dreamed she saw him killed by a Sixth
avenue elevated train. So vivid was
the mother's dream that she hurried to
New York city. Her route across town
from the Pennsylvania railroad ferry
lay through West Twenty-third street.
By a remarkable coincidence she
reached Seventh avenue a few seconds

and seriously injured by an eastbound

ear in which she was seated she recognized
the face of the man lying on the
ground surrounded by a large crowd.
She Jumped from the car and rushed
? to his side. When he became conscious
his mother's face was the first
thing that met his gaze. Believing
her to be in Philadelphia, he could not
account for her presence. Cooper was
removed to a hospital. It will be impossible
to tell for several days how
badly he is injured.

from users of Harrisons'
"Town & Country" Paint bear witness
to its long years of good service.
Far-Spreading?therefore less required,
and the less required, the lower
the cost. Paint that covers more
