Remember !?No voter can put his ballot
in the box on the Gth day of November,
unless he has a certificate of registration;
and this certificate of registration must
state the voter's present place of residence,
whether on his own land or as a tenant of
some one else. In other words, if the
voter has changed his residence since registration
and has not had his registration
certificate changed in conformity thereto,
he cannot vote! And managers of election,
both Federal and State, should look
well to this!?[Greenville News.

Raiding Saloons?At Thompson, Dakota,
last Wednesday, a dozen women were
arrested for raiding saloons And pouring
the whisky into the streets. All attempts
to close the saloons having failed, they took
the law in their own hands. A number of
them were taken to Grand Forks on Friday,
charged with riot. Their trial occupied
the entire day, and was bitterly contested,
the local W. C. T. U. espousing their
cause. The justice finally ruled that the
offence had been Committed, and held them
in $200 l?onds, which were furnished.

AUTUMN LEAVES ~
FROM
THE MAMMOTH,
AUTUMN LEAVES are beginning to fall,
indicative of the approach of Winter, for
which we are fully equipped in every department,
being prepared to display to 'the trade
unequaled Noyelties in everything in the Dry
Goods line. Such an opportunity is not often
presented to the people to supply every want,
and there is no reason why every want should
not be obtained, for prices are lower than ever
known in the annals of York, and range according
to quality. If you are not even disposed
to buy, accept a cordial invitation to examine
the most complete stock, marked in plain
figures, ever exhibited in any town in Carolina.
All classes of buyers require a gigantic dose
of reduction, and we are administering it in
unbroken quantities to hundreds every day, in
the shape of every style and quality of Dress
Goods, Trimmings, Laces, Embroideries, Hosiery,
Gloves, Handkerchiefs, and everything
in the Notion lines. And, by the way, we are
just marking our first installment of Ladies'
Wraps, and all the newest garments for ladies'
wear. Ladies who see our line of goods do not
entertain the wink of a thought of going else
where, ana it aoes not taKe any extra persuasion
to sell these goods at our low prices.
Think of Men's comfortable Suits at 84.35,
and Boys' Suits at $1.50. One glance is sufficient
to make a sale of our elegant and celebrated
Strouss & Bro.'s Clothing, for every one has
now found itto surpass anything in any market.
Boys' Iron-clad School Suits at prices that
will reconcile mothers to the wear and tear.
Goods sold for what they are and no deception.

M. C. WILLIS.
I Extend to the Public My Thanks
17*011 their liberal patronage, my business
. for 1888 being 100 per cent, larger than for
the same time last year. The encouragement
that I have received has prompted me to watch
up my business more closely, and I consequently
buy goods cheaper than most dealers and
can afford to sell them cheap. I have now the
best, largest and most complete stock of goods
ever shown in this market, ranging in price
from $87.50 to $200.00. I can suit every one, as
I have them at all prices. I have buggies made
North, East, West and South; the latter being
THE "YORKVILLE BUGGY,"
Which is fast supplanting all others. It combines
all the points necessary for a good buggy.
It is light, but madeof the finest selected material,
which gives it strength and elasticity. It
is put together perfectly true, thus doing'away
with the wear, tear and rattle of inacurately
constructed buggies, and making it the most
durable buggy ever offered in this market. It
is finished in the very finest style, having
SIXTEEN COATS OF PAINT oh the body,
and the trimming is done by the "Old Reliable,"
JOHN DENNIS. A finer or more particular
trimmer does not breathe the air of the
nineteenth century. I ask no man to buy my
buggy because it is made in our country. I ask
you to buy them because they are the best buggy
without any exception ever offered in this
market, Call and inspect my stock, and be
convinced. I carry a full line of hand made
harness'; also a large stock of whips, lap robes,
and all kinds of carriage material and Carriage
Hardware. I also handle the "TENNESSEE"
and "OLD IIICKQRY" farm wagons.
I do all Kinds of Repairing
And REPAINTING, and have the BEST
IIORSE SHOER in the country. Friends,
give me a trial.
I have a great many notes that will fall due
in a few days, and I will expect PROMPT
SETTLEMENT. I have a great many open
accounts that are DUE NOW and I must have
the money at once. Yours Respectfully,
M. C. WILLIS.
