KUYKEXDAL'S SPECIALS.
The Man in the Moon.
We read that once upon a time a notion was
started that if all the people in the world would
cry Boo-oo ! at once, that it could be heard in
the moon. An agreement was entered into and
the day, hour and minute was fixed when the
mighty shout should go up. Nothing was
talked for months in advance, but the awful
?v noise that would be made on that occasion; but
A when the time came eyerybodj' had their ears
v so wide open to hear the racket that was to
w wake up the man in the moon, that no one
spoke except a deaf man in the Feegee Islands
and a woman in Pekin; so that the world was
never so still since the creation. The plain
inference from the foregoing is that if you
wish to bo heard, you must make a noise ; that
is, blow your horn. In this special column we
hope to blow many a blast, not with the intention
of disturbing the calm serenity of the
gentleman in the silvery orb ; but to certify to
the readers of the Enquirer the value of our
specialties in trade. During the year we may
have occasion to say something about the celebrated
Longman & Martinez Pure Prepared
Paint. We are going to make a remark here
with regard to this Paint, that you may have
heard before; but no matter for that, it will bear
repeating again and again. It is this, that the
Longman & Martinez Paint is the only one that
has an unconditional guarantee of satisfaction,
which is as good for the amount of your bill of
Paints as the note of the manufacturers or that
of your humble servant, the subscriber. This of
itself ought to be a sufficient inducement for
its use on every house that is painted in the
county. .
You will also, if you do your duty to our
special column, see from time to time some interesting
matter there with regard to the wonderful
new remedy known as Campbell's Cough
Cure. Your circumstances may beafHuent;
moderate or such as to compel you and your
family to forego some of the comforts of life,
but in no case can you afford to be without a
bottle ofCampbeli'sCough Cure in the house.
Exigencies may arise that would make it worth
its weight in gold. "Night before last," said a
lady, "I coughed all night and last night would
have been a repetition of the night before, had
not Mr. Parish kindly sent me a bottle of
Campbell's Cough Cure. A dose relieved me
at once and I had a delightful night's rest. So
I have come down to get a bottle." The experience
of this lady is that of all who use it.

"TYE ARE GROWING OLD TOGETHER."
ONE of the first admonitions we have of
growing old, is the impairment of vision.
What a comfort it is to know that this, at least,
of many infirmities that age brings, can bo
remedied. If you find yourself in neod of
Eye Glasses or Spectacles, come to the York
Drug Store and get fitted with the Diamanta
Rock Crystal Glasses. We guarantee to suit
your eyes, or you may return goods and have
the price refunded. But even with good Spectacles,
we must have a good light, and speaking
of lights, wo would call your attention to the
Harvey Electric Lamp. After an experience of
many years in Lamps and Burners, we have
no hesitation in saying that we have seen nothing
to equal this Lamp as to its general good
qualities. Come and see it. Lamps are household
necessities, and that reminds us to recommend
to houskeepers Household Ammonia.
Get a bottle and see how soon it becomes indispensable.
We sell it, full pint bottles, for 25
cents. A very important adjunct to a household
is a good garden. To have a good garden you
must have good seeds; this leads us to say
that we we have received a large supply of
Landreth's Garden Seeds and Onion Sets, (Potatoes
we will have later on) the growth of the
past season. All old seeds burned. Notice
the date on each paper you buy. There is but
a step from the garden to the farm, and
there also you must have good seed. This
induces us"to speak of Landreth's Improved
Golden Dent Corn of which we have a
supply, as we have also of fresh Clover, Orchard
and Blue Grass Seeds. The earth will not
bring forth abundantly without the aid of
fertilizers, and when fertilizers are named,
your mind will naturally revert to the Soluble

most generally popular; or our high grade
Dissolved Bone, Phosphate of Lime and Irish
Bone Acid Phosphate. All these goods are
too well known in this market to need further
mention. It is generally the unexpected
that happens. You may lay your plans tor the
household, garden, farm, Ac., and yet in a short
while find yourself in need of medicine for
some bodily ailment, in which case you will, of
course, send to the York Drug Store for the
medicine or cause your Doctor to have his prescription
filled there, where you know that it
will be accurately compounded from fresh and
pure ingredients*. J. C. KUYKENDAL.

See What The Racket Price Has Done.
SINCE the Old Chap run out the RACKET
PRICES, see the change in the tide of trade.
Almost every person who has any cash to spare
goes to the Racket Store to trade." No wonder,
for they can get so much more for their money
there than they get anywhere else. Just think
of it: A 89.00 Overcoat for ?6.00 ; a 812.50 Overcoat
for 88.25 ; a 86.00 Overcoat for 84.25; ?3.50
Boots for 82.50 ; 75 cents Dress Goods for 55
cents ; 50 cents Dress Goods for 30 cents; 25
cents Dress Goods for 16 cents. Compare notes
and see if the Racket prices are not worth looking
after.
SEE THE iMONEY YOU CAN SAVE.
The Racket Store has been biking in from ?50
to ?100.00 per day, every day since it commenced.
Whenever the Old Chap says Racket
Prices, every one knows that he means it, and
they go there to trade, not because they would
rather go there, but because it is dollars in their
pockets, and dollars get very close to most persons'
hearts.
"My friend, Dusenbury, where did you get
that beautiful Red Oil ? It gives such a brilliant
light; so much better than we have. We
use the common white Oil."
"Yes, we'used that until wo were induced to
try this. This gives such a beautiful light and
no danger of it exploding."
"Indeed, Mrs. Fairchilds, that is a great consideration,
and pray tell mo what it costs
you."
"Only 25 cents a gallon."
"Why, dear me, I pay 20 cents for this common
White Oil, and it gives no such light as
this. Where do you get it ?"
"At T. M. DOBSON A SON'S, and for 25
cents only."
"Well, as soon as I get home I will send up
and get a gallon, and if it gives me such a brilliant
light as this I will never use anything else.
Only 5 cents higher than the common Oil."
Ever3' one who tries it never uses anything
else if they can get it.

A STRIKE IN YORK COUNTY
We read of the operatives in all kinds of <
business striking for nioro wages all over
the country; but, because we don't have it in
York, it seems like away off and nothing to
us. But now, a strike in York county must
be considered and acted upon. To settle it and ]
make peace, what will we do? The strike is by
the farmer for lower prices. We at once yield
to the demand and agree to furnish them at low- <
er and more reasonable prices than over before.
All that we demand is good security and then
the prices will bo satisfactorily low. Wo will
do $100,000.00 worth of business this year with
good parties, or bad ones with good security. .
