TURNING OVER STOCKr
Notwithstanding tho fact that we keep
many articles that don't sell often, we buy
thevalueof our stock 4 to 6 times annually.
We keep our stock full every month of the year,
but we buy and sell more in December than
any other month. We generally buy from onethird
to one-half of the value of our stock in
this month, and this year we are preparing to
do "the grand" in this Xmas month. New
goods on the road in every lineof our business.
GROCERIES.
In addition to our usually complote stock of
Staple and Fancy Eatables, we expect to show
many Novelties in tho few following weeks of
1887.
We want to impress the following facts upon
the purchasing public: That, whereas you can
buy a pound of Raisins or Candy and many
delicacies for tho inner man at many cross
road stores, yet this department of business,
like any othor, has its inside tracks for reliable
quality and bottom prices, and wo think an experience
of 10 years has given us a good hold
on the mercantile ropes.
We feel warranted in guaranteeing the price
of anything we sell in Groceries, Hardware,
Crockery, Glass, Wooden, Willow, Tinware,
etc We court a comparison of goods and
prices with any of our neighbors, whoseintogrity
and ability we do not hereby impeach.
NEW EAf ABLES.
Hams, best and the popular California, Dried
Beef, Breakfast Strips, Sausage, White Fish,
which are good substitutes for Mackerel, almost
out of sight in price. Sugars and Coll'ees
of every sort. Sugars are looking up, but we
are still selling at old prices. Think our almost
white at 14 pounds for 81.00, a little wee
bit better than others. Recollect where to go
for the right kind of Icing Sugar. A nice
roasted Coffee at 3J pounds for 81.00, and the
old reliable No. 34at 33? cents. There is much
prejudice against roasted Coffees, but we think
such rather misplaced, since the proper- machinery
can parch Coffee more evenly and
with less waste and trouble than the ordinary
York housekeeper with her very primitive
conveniences.
All kinds of Flour, including the finest brand
in the country for Xrnas Cake and everything
else for same. Fruits of every sort?green and
dried. Fruits and Vegetables are better than
physic and more palatable and cheaper in the
end. Dried Apples beat liver regulators.
Canned Goods in variety new. Fruits, Fish,
Meat and Vegetables. Real good Cheese, Maccaroni,
Chocolates, Mince Meat, Cream Tartar,
Baking Powders, Spices of good quality, best
Vinegar, and New Crop New Orleans Molasses,
which are very fine this season.
HARDWARE.
Every few days we save some man a margin
on r. little bill in this line and make a trifle for
ourselves. We do not exaggerate when we
claim to save you about 82.00 on 810.00 worth of
Locks, Hinges, Fastenings, Ac. Every line
has its leaders, which are sold without legitimate
profit, and wo cannot sell Nails for less
than you often buy them, but we are selling a
better article than usual'at same price. Lots of
new Hardware?Shovels and Tongs, Andirons,
Plows aqd Stocks, Singletrees, Hames, Strings
for same. Backhands, Heel Bolts, Plow Rods,
Loose Links at 15 cents a dozen, often sold at
25. Tallow and Zinc Machine Oilers. Get our
prices for anything in Hardware.
Guns from 82.00 to 835.00, which latter is as
good as a man needs in this country. Gun

OUR BUSINESS REVIEW.
A FEW ARTICLES OF THE TOILEr
BROUGHT TO YOUR ESPECIA]
ATTENTION.
"Ah, There" Soap, Pond Lily Toilet Was!
Dr. Sheffield's Dentrifice and Elixir Bain
and Parson's Purgative Pills.
w E do not mean to be egotistieal when w
say that since our half column advertismen
appeared in the "old reliable," our busines
has doubled ! Why is this you may ask
The fact is everybody reads the Enquire!
and those who don't subscribe for it ride mile
to borrow it. We don't mean to say thatthi
riding is done to see our advertisement, but a
the same time they see it all the same.
The public has taken to our "AH, THERE
Toilet Soap and it is gaining favor very fasl
Now wedon't claim this soap to be of a qualit;
equal to Lubin or even to Colgate's Cashmer
Bouquet, but we do claim that there is mor
solid worth in three cakes of this soap for tei
cents, than any soap ever offered to the pub
lie in this town. People who have called fo
this soap at the instance of our advertismen
are actually astonished at the low price ani
good quality of this wonderfully cheap soar
"Large streams from little fountains flow,
And tall trees from little acorns grow."
So it will be seen by a second thought, and i:
consideration of our "three cakes" for te
cents, coupled with the acorn theory, that i
the use of "AH, THERE" Soap for oneveai
you will save more than the 2 mill school ta:
and bo directly benefitted and come in contac
with a "two edged sword," cutting both way
for your direct ben tit.
POND LILY TOILET WASH.
The above wash is an aristocratic preparatioi
and endorsed by every fastidous woman ii
America whose delight it has been to undergo
the exhilarating effect brought about by tin
world renowned article of the toilet. This was!
is delicately perfumed, and it requires onl;
a small quantity in the basin or bath tub which
if used as directed by the manufacturers, wil
prove a delightful luxury and give entire satis
faction. Directions furnished with each bottle
and it is sold at the low price of 25 cents pe
bottle. Bottle holds about a pint.
DR. SHEFFIELD'S CREAM DENTRIFICE
This preparation is put up in flexible tube
and is compounded of the best known ingredi
ents for neutralizing the acids of the mouth
nil rlAlnfAi*iAn(i rlonneifQ nnnn fh
UV Ullklll^ mi UClVI>bllUUt> viv^/vuitv - -- - ?
teeth (which cause them to decay and bccom
loose), and the cure of spongy or unhealth;
gums. Decay of the Teeth is caused by acii
degeneration of the food remaining betweei
the teeth and in their indentations. By th
use of the above preparations, which ar
antacid, decay is prevented.
In connection with the above preperation w
would say that we also have Dr. Sheffield'
ELIXIR BALM for the Gums. These article
may be used together or separately. The mos
effective way for a radical cleansing' of th
teeth and the promotion of a healthy conditio
of the mouth, is to wet the brush in the Elixi
and use it connection with the cream. As a de
licious, fragrant mouth wash the KLIXI1
BALM has no equal. Now, in conclusion, w
simply ask you not to be "led away" by dc
signing competitors who say they have nc
Sheffield's preparations but have somethin
a great (leal better?simply because they don
have Sheffield's. We have all kinds, ladies
and Sheffield's IS THE BEST.
PARSON'S PURGATIVE PILLS
Is a medicine of undoubted worth, and th
manufacturers are very desirious of introdu
cing them in York county. Witli the sale c
each box we give a large tine Steele engravin
of President Cleveland and his "political fair
ily" at home. Respectfully, MAY A MAY.
