SOME FACTS.
OUR Bread has now been before the public
for three weeks and has given universal
satisfaction. We are assured of this by the fact
that orders are constantly being duplicated ot
increased, and not a single complaint have we
heard as to QUALITY OR QUANTITY. The
Loaves weigh a pound, and the quaility is, us
our customers assure us, such as defies compe,
tition. Parties desiring HOT ROLLS for breakfast
have only to leave the orders with us. We
furnish to order anything and everything produced
by a tirst-class Bakery.
Our Cakes, like our Bread, need no recommendation
from us, their own merit being sufficient.
In this line we have 110 fears that we
. will be able to please the most fastidious. All
we ask is that you send in the first order and the
second will coine of its own accord.

11 WHO WILL LET THE PRIZES ?
MRS. GAINES, who will get the prizes this j
year ? I would like to have the buggy, and '
. I my daughter, Clara, says she is bound to get the
1 gold watch."
[ "Well, Mrs. Chambers, those who trade with
i | the Old Chap will get the prizes. That is as near
guessing as any one can do. Every person who
buys ?2.00 worth of goods at one time and pays
1 cash for them will get a chance at the Buggy,
> Watches and Sewing Machine, and it is as fair
i for one as it is for another, as all the numbers
(not names) are placed in a box and well shaken
r up and the numbers are drawn out and the
names opposite the numbers drawn will get the
I prizes. So you see it is a fair and square thing.
No lottery business, no gambling, but a fair and
square give away thing. Ministers do not hesitate
to have their names put down. If there was gambling
in it the old Chap would have nothing
to do with it, as he is not a gambler. It is only ,
an inducement for cash trade and an inducement ]
that
NO UTHtiK llUlSii ?UWa>
Is offering and no other house will sell you
goods cheaper and deal with you fairer than'the
Old Chap. The Old Chap is offering big bargains
in Overcoats and Ready-Made Clothing, any one
in need will do well to see the Old Chap's goods
before buying, and remember, in a suit of
clothes you get several chances at the prizes.
The Old Chap is now ottering the cheapest Shoe
for ladies ever seen in this market?a ladies' '
Goat Buttoned Shoe for $2.00. The cheapest shoe
ever offered in this market. A case of Zeigler's
Goat Buttoned Shoes for $2.50, will arrive in a
few days. Everybody knows that >?eigler's
Shoes are good. No one else keeps them but the
Old Chap. He has the largest stock of Ladies'
. Shoes in Yorkvillo and lie always has been
noted for keeping good Shoes, and never seils
you a mean Shoe without telling you, if he knows
it. The Old Chap is selling the best Shirt for
! $1 or six for $5.00, in Yorkville.
IT IS CALLED "THE CROWN,"
And there is none better in Yorkville, and the
Old Chap sells a Shirt for 50 cents that beats all
i low priced Shirts in town, at that price. The
: Old Chap sells Hardware as low as the lowest. '
, For instance, a Rim Lock complete at 20 cents, f
and with a bill of Locks at 15 cents, as I always .
have said that I will not be undersold in anything 1
if I know it. So come along with vour cutting
prices and you will always find the Old Chap
[ in the ring?sorry to have to do such a thing.
l Remember, all kihds of Hardware as low as the
, very lowest on the same kind of goods. Handl
Axes, Planes, Chisels, Squares, Compasses, Di.
viders, Levels, Screws, Hinges, Pocket Knives,
Table Knives, all kinds of Files, Braces and
. Bitts, Shovels and Tongs, in fact, all kinds of
Shelf Hardware can be found at bottom prices.
I BIG BARGAINS IN MILLINERY. <
! We are offering big bargains in Millinery
' to close out, especially Ladies' Hats, Velvets, ]
Plushes, Collars, Ribbons and all kinds of Win- <
ter Millnery to close out. Mrs. Dobson has a i
splendid assortment of all kinds of Perfumery
and Face Powders, Magnolia Balm and Bloom
of Youth, also Red Paint for face, in fact, everything
that is needed for beautifying the face.
> Bridal Outfits and Mourning Outfits always on t
hands and made at short notice. All kinds of
Black Crapes from 50 cents to $5.00 per yard.
. Zephyrs, all colors, at 10 cents per ounce. Knitting
rnttnn. Ruehintr Braids, and a few Cloaks
, ancF Jackets left which will be sold cheap. Jewelry,
Gold and Jet, Children's Bracelets and
. Rings, also Gold Rings for Ladies and Gents, i
Any kind of Gold Ring and Watches ordered at 1
short notice for any one and if they do not suit f
you can return them, when they are ordered out
. specially for you. Dressmaking is still moving
on.
FITS AND WORK ALL GUARANTEED.
Mrs. Dobson has a first-class cutter and seamstresses
and turns out the very best fits. You
can see them daily on the streets. She makes
| from a Calico to the finest Silk Dress and guar|
antees a fit in every instance. In fact, the Old
\ Chap has a model establishment. A lady can ?
. step into Dobson's and rig herself out from head {
to foot all of the latest stvles and at the lowest <
, prices. Remember, Mrs. Dobson is well posted
j in regard to fashions as she goes to New York
. twice every year and sees for herself, and she
takes the latest fashion books and keeps well
posted. So you will always get the latest at her .
Emporium of Fashion, and every 82.00 bought I
] in her department entitles you to a chance at all
! the prizes.
Mr. Nathan, do you owe the Old Chap anything?
If you do Mr. H. C. Strauss will be to
see you soon and not only once but will contin- j
ue to come until you pay or make him secure, 1
as the Old Chap's business must be closed up.
The hardest excuse that any man yet has offered
about paying a little bill is, "That all the goods
he bought were no account." After having
them over 12 months and never saying one word
' about them until now when asked for the money,
when he says the goods are no account and
' did not pay for them. If he does not pay for
' them or make the Old Chap safe, be will publish
his name and post office address in full so that
' other merchants can be on the lookout for him.

OXWARD BOIXD.
THE York Drug Store is afloat on the waves
of the new year with every department full
and with facilities for conducting the business
of the different departments equal to any retail
house in the land.
DEPARTMENT OF DRlTGS.
This department is complete and full of choice
fresh goods. We will continue to use Telegraph,
Express and Freight lines to keep it so.
DEPARTMENT OF PRESCRIPTIONS.
This department will be under the personal
supervision of the proprietor who will give his
personal attention to the compounding of every
prescription. The patronage of Physicians, in
mis uepuruneill/ is suuuiuu, cspcvinuy iiiusu
practicing in the country.
DEPARTMENT OF PAINTS.
Our shelves and floors are groaning under the
weight of goods in this department. We reiterate
here what we have said many times heretofore,
that we will duplicate any bill from anywhere.
Charges for containers and freight added,
it there be any such on the bill. We sold a gentleman
on Friday, the 10th instant, 810:$.82 worth
of paints and saved him 810.52 on the lowest bid
he received for the same goods in this and neighboring
markets. If any man doubts what we
have said above, we will take him to some lone,
dark and noiseless spot, where no eye can see and
no arm can save, and?and?take his pocket
book.
DEPARTMENT OF FERTILIZERS.
We are filling our warehouses with the choicest
manurials made in the United States. We offer
Soluble Pacific Guano, which undoubtedly stands
at the head of high grade ammoniated goods. The
well known Irish Bone, a super excellent article
manufactured expressly for our trade. Uorenz
ifc Rittler's Guano, another high grade goods.
Edisto Acid Phosphate, a first, class South Carolina
Rock Phosphate and Kainit. These goods
are offered on time only, at whatever rate the
market may settle at We would say that the
prices will be uniform*. The poor man, especially
the "brother in black" (the colored man)
whose trade we solicit, will have the same prices
as his more opulent neighbor.
Department or Unpaid Accounts.
This department is unusually plethoric and
must be depleted to be put on a healthy basis.
We will very soon render statements of accounts
to all those who are indebted to us. We have
two purposes in sending these statements. One
Is to advertise you of the amount you owe, the
other is to ask respectfully, but emphatically
that you pay it. JOHN C. IvUYKENDAL.

HAYING BEEN BEFORE THE PUBLIC,
In nearly every department of business, it is unnecessary
for mo to put forward any claims I

I ask those with whom I have had dealings to
speak for me.
SPOT CASH ALWAYS TELLS,
And I have bought the entire stock of goods carried
