Prospectus for 1885. r
m
A FINE BUGGY AS A PREMIUM! j
? - ? -o
IN issuing our prospectus for 1885, we deem it
only necessary to announce that the leading
features which have characterized the editorial
conduct of the Yorkvillk Enquirkr for more
than a quarter of a century will be retained, and
what it has been in the past will be an assurance f
of what it shall be in the future. The leading
departments of the paper will be retained as t
heretofore, and they will be conducted with the \
same labor and care that have marked our efforts
in the past. The Sabbath Department, which,
under the control of Rev. Dr. Lathau, has been
an interesting feature of the enquirer tor sixteen
years, will be continued, he having been
engaged to keep up that department as heretofore.
Besides the original articles which he will ;
contribute weekly to the Sabbath Department of
the paper, he has'also been engaged to continue
his contributions on Foreign Travel, which will
prove interesting and instructive to the reader, ^
abounding as they will, in the writer's observations
and reflections thereon during an extended
tour of the British Isles. While the Literary and '
Miscellaneous features of the Enquirer will be
kept up to the standard which has given the
paper a distinctive character, careful attention 1
will also begiven to the News department, which 3
will embrace a record of the leading events at the 3
State and National Capitals; Congressional and 4
Legislative proceedings; "Scraps and Facts,"
being a hotcn-potch of light current topics; a
compend of the News Abroad and at Home; j
Oeneral Correspondence; Market Reports; Local, j
County and State News; Editorial Articles upon r,
appropriate subjects intended to promote the 3
welfare and prosperity of our State and people,
which will, we trust, continue to renaer the
Enquirer a welcome and entertaining Family
Journal. "j
