Its praises are heard by the wayside and
in the bnsy Marts of Trade.
Messrs. Benson <fc Co., of Hartwell, Ga., Merchants,
in conversation with the popular traveling
salesman of the well-known house of Cox,
Hill <fc Thompson, Atlanta, Ga., said that Norman's
Neutralizing Cordial was an oxcellent
medicine and is giving satisfaction wherever
used. They sell a great deal of it.
A gentleman representing the Rockford, 111.,
Watch Co., told one of our customers that he
heard Norman's Neutralizing Cordial highly
spoken of by a host of railroadmen, who recommended
it to all whose duties called them to different
parts of the country where they are subject
to disorders of the stomach produced by
changes of food and water, of which this medicine
is a specific counteracter.

VO Stove ever sold in the South enjoys a more
extended or merited popularity. They have
icen making tliis Stove at Greensboro, X. C., for
bout 14 years, and the demand has increased,
ear by year, being greater now than at any furrier
time. Hundreds of families in North Oaroina
and other States, who have used themcontantly
from 10 to 14 years, pronounce them as
;ood as new, and commend them in the highest
erms. If a canvass was made of the Stoves now
u use in North Carolina, it would show as many
Topic Cook Stoves as those of every other make
ombined.
In order to sell them cheap, or to compensate
or the Nickel plating and fancy Trimmings, the
nakers of nearly all the Stoves now put upon the
uarket have reduced the thickness of the plates,
nd in consequence they soon crack, or the plates
pring, and in from three to live years the Stove
lecomes worthless. Another feature practiced
?y many Stove makers of lateyears, is to enlarge
lie topand bulge thedoors in order to make the
hove appear larger than it really is. The Tropi;
has larger flues, giving it a better draft; larger
iven and weighs more than any other Stove in
he market. HERNDON BROTHERS.

THAT CHEWING TOBACCO!
.
WELL, 'Squire Perkins, what do you suppose
the "Old Chap" did the other day, wnen I
was in town ? He gave me a piece of
His "Oltl Chap" Tobacco
To try. He said it was the best in town
FOR THE MONEY.
So I put it in my pocket and started for home,
and on the way I concluded I would try the
thing, as asked to do, and, Mr. Perkins,
I Was So Well Pleased With The Chew
That I almost had a notion to turn back and buy
me 5 pounds of it. The very next day I sent
with Mr. Dawkins for
I
A POIJWD OF IT.
All my neighbors, who have tried it, are well
pleased, ana say they are not going to chew anything
else but the "Old Chap" Tobacco. Mr.
Perkins, tell your neighbors about the "Old
Chap" Tobacco,
Manufactured Expressly for T. M. Dobson,
Price only 50 cents a pound and as good as many
tobaccos which are sold at 75 cents. Besides this
he sells the Lucy Hinton, Gilt Edge, Minnie,
Florida Fig, and the Old Oaken Bucket. I advise
all men who chew to call and see the "Old
Chap" Tobacco. The "Old Chap," himself, is in
New York, but he did not take the Tobacco with
him.
I>i ess Making, i
Well, Mrs. Kelly, that old chap, DOBSON, and
his little accommodating wife, an? making things
lively for the dull season of the year. I stepped
into the work room the other day, and to my surprise,
there were six ladies as busy as bees, sewr
ing, cutting and fitting Dresses, and they have
been busy all summer. To show you how things
are done up there, a lady stepped in and said
she wanted
A NICE TRAVELING WRAP MADE
clock. I looked up and saw that theclock
said eleven. I thought to myself no Wrap for
you bv that time. Mrs. DOBsON was called in
and the wants of the lady made known. She
said certainly I will have it made for you bv that
time, and made it was. Think of it, a nice Wrap
made in four hours. I advise all persons in need
of work done in that line to consult Mrs. DOBSON
before you have it done. All her work is
delivered the very hour it is promised. No disappointment
there. You are told what it will
cost you, and when you come to settle your bill
that is what it will be. Come one and all and see
Mrs. DOBSON.
She is now in Mew York,
With the Old Chap, looking alter Millinery and
Fancy Goods for the ladies, but her
DRESS MAKER
Is at the Store, and will accommodate all who
may favor her with a call. Fits guaranteed in
even' instance.

FACTS.
A fact that is not self-evident, must be established
by investigation for one's self, or by the
testimony of witnesses. After it has become a
fact, there is no getting around, under or over it.
That Wizard Oil has had an immense sale here is
a fact, and that it possesses great potency in relieving
and curing Rheumatism, Neuralgia,
Head-ache?s:ck or nervous, contracted tendons
and muscles, Pain in the back, Colic, Ac., Ac., is
a fact likewise, that may be proven by the mouth
of many witr: esses, and"accounts for the great demand.
" Fron. what we have seen and heard of it
we think it is worth the price, viz: 81.00 a bottle.
Always on hind at the York Drugstore.
The principal adulterants found in Raking

Some months ago, we contracted with the agent
of a manufacturer to make especially for our
trade a largo lot of Cigars. As we had long enjoyed
the reputation of selling The Best Cigar "in
Town for 5 cents, the conditions of the contract
were that our character should suffer no violence
in thl^ particular, and that this new Cigar should
surpass in excellence anything we had hitherto
handled. They were to be as good as a Cigar
could be made'to retail with a profit for 5 cents.
We were to be the judge of its qualities, and if
not satisfactory, the whole lot was to be returned
at the expense of the shipper. We have 5,000 ol
the lot now in store and respectfully ask the
smoking public to give them a trial.
