the summit, we have very little fear of i being struck by lightning. In fact, for ! thirty years no' one has been hurt or had such a narrow escape from death. It is an , old saying that lightning never strikes ; twice in tne same place, and I am sure I ! do not care to have it..- We were all the more surprised from the fact that until the bolt came in we had no idea of the presence of an electric storm. It had begun to rain a little, but there had been no flashes of lightning. It was as startling as it would have been to get a clap of thunder out of a clear sky. You have probably heard of the impression of a tree being found upon the bodies of those killed by lightning. The ?ame thing was noticed upon my back, and as there are no trees upon Mount Washington, it seems to me that the peculiar appearance must be the result of the blood settling in the smaller veins." tf-MvmvMrvl nivb flT rrmmovrrtlf ^juiauwai aiui vyuiuuiuvwu. C. ^ We have just received a private dispatch, stating that the neighboring city of Charlotte was rejoicing over the wonderful cure effected on an old gentleman living there. It seems that he ^ had been suffering with chronic diarrhoea, or, in j other words, inflammation of the stomach, oyer three years. After trying all other remedies 1 without avail, and having given tip all hope of recovery, was persuaded to try Norman's Neutralizing Cordial. It acted like a charm. Two bottles did the work. The party has entirely reoov- 1 ered and will verify this statement. Will wonders ever cease? Suffering friend, do not lose hope.
