John Rosborough, of Chester, who held the office

report upon the condition thereof to
the Council. Any directions or recommendations
as to sanitary* matters given by said committee,

MACARTHY'S
Celebrated Horse Power.
REAL) the following from Mr. CJ. \V. Brunson,
of Orangeburg, written to the undersigned,
under date of June 22nd, 1883. Mr. Brunsou
used the Horse-Power last season, for ginning
cotton, and he now speaks of it in the following
terms:
I used the Power spoken of last season. I
have two sixteen-hands mules, which pull my
gin nicely. I gin and pack 4 to 5 four-huudredand-fiftv-pound
bales per day. I am well satislied
with the Power. Whenever I want better
results, I put in an extra mule. Several are being
ff put up here. I use one-inch rope, as it niaKes
the Power steadier than 5 inch rope. I also attached
to the Power a twenty-four inch circular
saw to saw tirewood. I put in a counter shaft,
and by using four mules was enabled to supply
our town with a large quantity of wood.
