of September, 1859, file their declarations
against the Defendant, who (as it is said) is absent
from and beyond the limits of this State, and
has neither wife nor attorney known within the
same, upon whom a copy of the said declaration
might be served. It is, therefore, ordered that
the said Defendant do appear and plead to the
said declarations, on or before the 7th day of
September, which will be in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and sixty, otherwise
final and absoluto judgment will then be given
and awarded against him.

in timber?the balance in cultivation. A two

kitchen and negro houses, &c., on the premises.
His lot at Blairsville, containing between NINE
and TEN acres, on which there are a comfortable
two story dwelling house, a good kitchen, barn
and stabling, wheat house, flour house, &c., also

RAN A WAY from the Subscriber, on the 1st of
August, 1858, a negro boy named VERGE,
between 40 aud 50 years of age; about fire feet
four or five inches high, with a small mole on one I
side of his nose. In walking, inclines to carry his t
head down. I will pay FIFTY DOLLARS for the i
apprehension of the said boy and his delivery to <
me, or for his confinement in any jail so that I
can get him.
I am informed that he lurks about Boyd's, two
or three miles above Wright's Ferry, on the Catawba
river. Also, in the neighborhood of Robert <
M. Boyd's, Gaston \jounty, North Carolina. It is ]
said that he has been harbored by the Givenses, 1

three months, by negroes belonging to Jesse K.
Armstrong, Leander Adams and Daniel Cnrrenoe. I

word by letter, to Yorkville, and I will attend and 1
render the necessary assistanoe for his capture. <
