Lntenl from Europe,. The Collins steamship Atlantic arrived at New York on Monday last, with Liverpool dates to (lie i 8th instant. The second election flias taken place in Paris, . and all three of the opposition candidates are el- ! ected. The revolutionary movement at Naples < had been suppressed. There were toktns of dis- i 1 content in the South of Spain. Mr. Roebuck's . J motion, in the English House of Commons, to a- | bolish the Lord Lieutenancy of Ireland, had be- n 1 defeated by a. large majority. _ j The Corn Association had published estimates showing that tho stock of wheat and flour is lar- . ger :han was anticipated. The French harvests are n ost productive. Cotton was buoyant and unchanged. The sales j for the week were 21,000 bales, of which speculators and exporters took each 2,500 hales, leav- 1 ing 16,000 bales of all descriptions to the trade. j Good News.?The Courier due Havre says that no fly will enter a room in which a wreath of walnut leaves has been hung up The experiment is : worth trying. p White Teeth, peitrrmen Breath and Beauti- " fdl Complexion?can be acquired by using the j. 4,Balm of a Thousand Flowtrs. What lady or gen- E tleman would remain under the curse of adisagree- | e able breath, when by using the "Balm of a Thou- | , sand Flowers" as 9 dentrifice, would not onry render it sweet, but leave the teeth ns white as alabaster? Many persous do not know their breath is bad, and the subject is so delicate their friends will never mention it. Beware of counterfeits.? Be sure every bottle is signed FETRIDGE & CO. N. Y. For sale by all Druggists. Commercial ?lcprtmntl. j? Yorkville Market. Wednesday .Evening, July 22. Cotton.?Since our last issue, there have been several lots put upon the market?all of which were freely taken at full prices. Our quotations j p were full sustained, and our figures show a slight advance on the finest quality; some few bales , having sold as high as 13$. The foreign news by f( yesterdays paper shows no change in prices. 10$ fi to 13$ may be considered the value of the article " here now. Upwards of 60 bales have changed . hands since oar last. j Wheat.?This article has been in good demand in Charleston, and the receipts have been large d for the last week, which caused a declining ten- c dency and prices have given way a little. We * quote $1.10 to $1.25, as the prices offering here; p * think these prices will hardly be sustained, and think the first sales will be the best. Colombia Market. ^ July 20. Cotton.?There is so little cotton offering at H present that we have almost no market at all, and hi therefore all we can say is that if the article was offered it would be freely taken at very full prices. On Wednesday, the advices from Liverpool by the ? America to the 4th instant came to hand, report- Fj ing sales for the previous week of 68,000 bales, at J a slight advance on former quotations?specula- F tors took 7,500 and exporters 6,000, leaving a w stock on hand of 667,000 bales, of which 495,000 Si are American. It is impossible to say what effect in these accounts would have had on our market, as oi there was not enough of cotton sold after they were received to be any thing like a test of their ' effect, and consequently we can only continue our 1 former quotations, as we are fully satisfied the - article if offered would freely command them, viz: Inferior II (a, 11}; ordinary 11$@1J$; mid- te dling 12 @ 12} ; good middling 12$ (ii, 12$; fair n< 13 (a1 13?; and choice 13J @ 14 cents. at Bacon.?We can only repeat what we said in our last, viz: there is no country cured bacon iu the market, and all we can say is it would freely ~ command 16 cents lb. j Corn.?There is a fair supply of corn on the - market, and prices are a shade lower. We now quote: $1.12$ @ $1.15 bushel. Peas:?Cow peas are so scarce at present that they would a'most command any price. We quote "s $1.30 @ $1.35, and even at these prices they cannot be got. Flour.?There is a fair supply of fiour on the market, and prices rre quiet hut steady. We still ^ quote $7 fa^ 7} for common to good brands: su- ]j, perfine $7.60, and extra family Hour $8 $8} i u, b&u-el. ?.1 I 1 jgygmcuKu. ; j Married.?On tbe morning of the 21st instant, j by Rev. Clarion. PROF. DefiRATH'S ELECTRIC OIL* THE ELECTRIC OIL.?Electric Cnres?Pain is the premonitor of death; relieve the pain and you check the disease. Professor DeGrath's Electric Oil is the marvel of the age, for the following, (not everything): Cures Rheumatism often in a day; Cures Neuralgia, Toothache, two minutes; Cures Cramp in Stomach, five minutes; Cures Burns, Wounds, Bruises, one to three days; Cures Headache, fifteen minutes ; Cures Earache, Stiff Neck, Ague, one night; Cures Piles, Swelled Glands, ten days; Cures Felons, Broken Breasts, Salt Rheum, two to six days ; Cures Hemorrhage, Scrofala, Abscess, six to ten days; Cnres Frosted Feet and Chilblains, one to three days; Cures Ague and Fever, one to two days, and all nervous aud scrofulous affections; Cures deafness in one to four days; Cures all Pains in the Buck, Breast, &c., in two days. As an example of the estimation in which it ia held by one of the ablest jurists and writers on law &c., in this country, we will give a letter received by Prof. De Grath from John Livingston, Esq., Editor of the well known Monthly Law Magazine, 157 Broadway, New York, a word of such testimony is of more weight among the best classes, of the country, than volumes from unknown sources: Gibabd Hocss, Pbila., May 7th, 1856. Prof. Charles De Grath?I freely give it as my opinion that your "Eleotrio Oil" is among the most wonderfpl remedies of modern times. At t the earnest request of a lady who alleged she had I been relieved of a most painful affection by its use, I was induced to try a bottle, though at the time of pnrchasing, I fully believed it to be a quack medicine and a catch penny humbug. But a trial convinces mo that it does possess a magic power, and It* nxe will nrove a blessing to suffering hu manity. I recently took a cold from sleeping in damp sheets, and my neck became so much swollen and painful, that I could not turn my head. After using, without success, ererything pre* scribed by my physician, I last evening tried your Electric Oil. This morning I am well, the relief having been as complete as it was instantaneous. Yours very truly, JOHN LIVINGSTON. Editor Monthly Law Magazine, 157 Broadway & 120 West 14th sL, N. Y. Mr. Livingston belongs to the old wealthy and highly respectable families of the first settlers of New York. Any one can address him Jon the subject of the above letter, which will be answered with pleasure. Caution.?There are numerous imitations springing up on the reputation that my article has acquired.
