THE PRINCETON PRESS,
rpHE design of the inventor was to get up a Press
A which would answer every requirement of the offer
made by Geoiuik Bruce, of New York, in 18-31,
viz: cheap, light, easily managed, and capable of
throwing off at least 500 sheets per hour.
This Press will throw off from 500 to 800 sheets
jier hour, doing the work equal to any Cylinder Press.
The bed stands about 30 inches from the lloor, and
is the most convenient of all Presses to make ready
the form on. It is adapted to jobbing, or book work,
as well as newspaper, and will register as well as
any other Cylinder Press. It requires, to work it, ,
a man to turn the fly wheel, and a boy to feed the
sheets.
The Inking Apparatus is very complete, and differs
from the apparatus used in Cylinder Presses :
generally, being more like that used in the Tower
Platen Presses. Two rollers pass over the form
twice to each impression, taking ink for each sheet.
A Press of this description for newspaper and jobbing,
bed 44 by 28$ inches, with roller mould, roller
stocks, blanket, flying and registering apparatus,

,Icil for hook work chiefly, an extra ink fountain will
ho furnished for $20. The press, fly wheel, &c.,
will weigh about 2UUU pounds. The sides, tic., are

IT is proposed to publish in the town of Shelby, a
. weekly paper bearing the above tjtle, provided a
ufficient number of subscribers can be obtained.?
L'here is a large portion of Western North Carolina
vhere the want of such a paper as the Casket is deigned
to be has long been felt; and in view of this
vant we have been induced to undertake the enter>rize.
Her people want a good and cheap paper, in
vhich they can find amusement, and in which they
'an find a good selection of the latest news of the
lay. If this want can be supplied?if this vacuum,
vhich the lack of such a paper leaves around many
i fireside, can be filled by the publication of the Cascet
our object will be accomplished.
It will be needless to say much here in behalf of
he Casket, as we expect it to stand on its own merts
; but we will merely remark that in the selections
or its columns, the tastes of all classes of our comnunity
will be consulted. However, it will be more
mrticularly devoted to Literature, Education and
leneral News. The Literary department will be
mriched by the pens of several able correspondents,
:ogether with choice selections from the best sources
)ur country affords. In regard to politics, and all
such matters, the Casket will be perfectly independ;nt,
but not neutral.
And now, without making further promises, we
leave our little enterprize in the hands of the people

article but also the necessary exorbitant expense of time
and trouble attending a visit to this City. I will also
personally attend to the selecting, Packing, Marking
and Shipment of goods so as to avoid all mistakes and
damages which generally arise from want of a little
attention.
In addition to the above I will also attend to the
disposal of any produce that may be shipped to meAny
persons desirous of making Shipments of produce
of any kind had better write to me and I will
give them every information as regards the Markets,
manner of Packing and how to ship them. From my
long experience in a general mercantile business I
think I can give perfect satisfaction to all and suit
the most fastidious taste in my selections. Give me
i trial is all I ask. For my services I shall require
