A new Southern product growing very abundantly in the piney woods of the South, is a piunt known as the Deer Tongue. From the centre of this bunch of leaves tairts up as the season advances, a straight stalk, rising to tle height of from two to three feet terminating in a collection of bright purple flowers. The leaves are very fragrant when bruised, having a strong vanilla odor.
