Broke Jail.
Henry Houtton, who is now under
ientence of death for the murder of
William Powell, at Ridgeway last
December', succeeded in overpowering
the jailor yctirday morning and
making his escape from the jail. The
Sheriff soon gave the alarm,and at lead
twenty armed men followed the pris
oner a mile and a half when fie was
overtaken and returned to the jil.
The Sheriff informs us that he will
he heavily ironed until the day of his
-zecution, which will be the 26th of
next May.
