Dr. Mohler backed up this statement
by citing what has been accomplished
with a number of serious diseases. As
late as 1906 cattle scabies was prev
alent In about 1,800,000 square miles
of the United States. Now the country
ls practically free from this disease.
In 1906 about 1,800,000 squfcre miles
were infested with the sheep scab dis
ease. Now only about .200,000 square
miles remain . Infested and at the
recent rate of progress the next year
should practically see the end of sheep
scab. In 1906, the cattle fever tick oc
cupied .a domain of abbut 700.000
square miles.' This has now been re
duced to less than 300,000 square
miles, and the tick Is doumed to prac
tical extinction within the next four
years. The liog-cholera campaign, he
suld, has been of guerilla character,
but the use of anti-hog-cholera serum,
especially in oonne'ciion with the.virus,
