Death of Mr. E. L, Still.
On June 19th, the Death Angel
visited our home and bore on its
wing* to the better land our father
tf. L* Still. He was borne January
28th, 1872. He was sick only a few
days and no one thought him so ser
iously ill until Wednesday night, and
Thursday morning he was rushed to
a Hospital in Augusta, but all that
the doctors and kind friends could
do was of no avail. The end came
before he reached the hospital.
The funeral services were con
ducted by his pastor, Rev. W. D.
Heckle at Friendship church where
he was a consistent member. The
body was laid to rest in the Friend
ship cemetary in the presence of a
large concourse of sorrowing rela
tives and friends. He left surviving
him, a wife, two sons, one daughter,
two sisters, one brother, three grand
children and a host of friends to
mourn his loss. . “
no more we'll hear** dear 'voice,
and never, nu. never again shall we
look upon Jthat precious face where
a dear smile always lingered.
Father, dear, you are gone from
us forever, still we feel that God
knows best; but mother’#* heart., is
breaking for one look upon that
dear face she loved so well.
’Tis hard, so hard to give him up
but .wc feel that he was taken from
us for some good cause, but Father
we will prepare to meet thee where
there will be no more sorrow, pain
>r death but everlasting peace.
His only daughter.
Miss Thelma Glover returned to
her home in Beech Island, after
spending two weeks with relatives,
Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Franklin, of this
city.
