C M has informed us that he has a lien about one and a half years old that is doing her “bit” to help win the war. In a period of eight weeks this re markable hen hashatchedlwelve chickens, weaned them, laved Seventeen eggs and at present is the proud mother ol ten more chickens. This hen was raised up as a pet and besides showing her patriotism by producing such a quanity ofJood stuffs seems to have caught the military air. At a given command while feeding she will throw her head back and hold it erect until the signal one, two, three, four, is given be fore she will continue to, finish eating her food. The mother of this hen raised three litters of chickens last year and the pullets.from one litter of these chickens have laved seven ty-five eggs this year from which sixty-two chickens have been sold.
