The cottage on Marlborough Avenue
belonging to Mrs L. R Graham and
occupied by Mr and Mri M. A Thomas
was destroyed by fire Saturday about
one o’clock. The fire is supposed to
have caught from a defective flue. Mr
and M rs Thomas saved ,moat jof their
household goods, but had them dam
aged in moving out- The building wa«
insured for $500. The new fire fight
ing apparatus did effective work after
a fire department had been organized.
No doubt the use of the hose kept the
fire from spreading to other buildings.

I will compare it try a fight. Here 1
have a lighted lamp in my hand : it, is
a very dark night; .there .are a kreat
many people with lire, thej all have
lamps buj, they are not lighted ; they
«ant to lighi their lamps and all they
have tc do is to touch their lamps to
mine, they all born brightly. I can
give light to ten or a hundred and never
miss any of my light. It is the, same
with an education, you can, pour it out
to a thousand and never miss it. Now
I am going to make a long»-atory rliort
by saying that (iod has put as much
