lish Government has contracted for
the entire surplus oUThis wheat crop

been destroyed by the recent freezes.

Bamberg, March 26.—The Rev. W.
R. McMillan preached his farwell ser
mon at ithe Baptist church,here last'
night aud spoke ftelingly of the pleas
ant relations that have existed between
the people of Bamberg and his family.
Mr McMillau has been the Baptist pas
tor here for five years, and h*s leaving
causes regret not only among the mem
bers of his congregation but among the
entire citizenship of the community.
During this week he will move to West
minster to begin service iu his new

state officials from Barnwell county have accepted an invitation
to be present. Immediately after the parade which begins at
10 o’clock a. m. the governor will deliver an address from a
stand erected in front of. the school building. After the governor’s
address the regular schedule of mental and athletic contests will

OFFERS HIS SERVICES.
‘General Wm. W. Moore spent the
w-'ek end in Barnwell with relative?.
General Moore recently tendered his
services to the government in the event
of war with .Germany. When quest
ioned about the matter by a repreien-
tative of The Sentinel General Moore
said in substance :
There will be no new units organized
in Boutli Carolina until all of the pres-
ent National Guard organizations have
been recruited tu war strength. As
Adjutant General I sh^ll exert every
effort to the cause..of recruit!: g until
the National Guard units are at war
strength. Then in case there.Js a call r
for volunteer troops. I have offered my
services and will gladly attempt the.or-
