BARNWELL BOY IjJAKES GOOD.
The following editorial article taken
from the Greenwood Index will be
read with much plasure and gratifica
tion by the numerous friends of Mr A.
Sidney HartzOg. Mr Hartzog was a
Citizen of Barnwell for a number of
years and has numerous friends and
relatives here who will be delighted to
know oi his success in his adopted
home of Greenwm>d. The article from
the Index follows:
Now that all danger of opposition
has passed, and there never was any it
is not out of place to hand our Honor-' -
able Mayor, A .Sydney Hartzog, the
tribute that in due him He comes
before the people asking for re election
and there is no one t > say to him nay.
He has no opposition. This in itselt is
a high compliment, but The Index feels
that it is not out of place, to tell him on
bt half of the cu izens of this town here,
and now that" he has made good as
mayor. Greenwood has made splendid
and extensile progress under his ad
ministration,.
In the first few weeks of his ad minis
tration many of his friends felt.that the
Uew administration was puttilig _6ju1o
efTct too many improvements, that the
improvement plan would not hold out.
.But it held out and there are more
good things coining forth. \
It is a very sincere pleasure,to tell
the Ma\oi t.bat he" has Surprised even
his friends; thathe has made the.town
one of the best mayors it has ever had.'
Long may he be with us.
