one of the bright and promising young
businessmen of this eity, died15tmdav
afternoon, about 7 o*clock, after a short
illness. His death is a peculiarly sad

his large oircle of friends spent his
boyhood days in Barnwell, his family
' moving to Aiken when he was in his
teens. He finished his education here
and later entered the Georgia School
of Technology, where he apent several
1 years. About a year ago he was affict-.
ed with an incurable diaeaae and he
~loffered considerably. Recently be was
much improved. Friday atternooa he
went to Augusta with friends to attend
a reception at the Country Club, re
turned to the city about 8 o'clock. That
night he was taken desperately ill, and
after * few hours lost *â– eoneeioqsness*
and died last Saturday afternoon.
Funeral services took place this morn
ing at his late residence on Laurens
Street and interment was 'at Barnwell.
At the altar they were joined by the
groom and his best man, Mr. Colen
Segars, of Ffartsville, The tfshers were
Messrs, Q.. A.' Kennedy, Jr., and Quin
cy Eubanks, of Aiken. ~
The ceremony was impressively per
formed bj Rev.^AV. M. Jones, D.-D.
The bride will very lovely fn her
jgoing-away gown ot blue broadcloth,
with accessories to* match, carrying a
superb bouquet of bride’ii roses.
Immediately following the cremony
the young couple left by an auto for
Augusta,Jrom which place they went
next day to Monroe, N. C., wherW they:

On the night preceding the wedding
life bridal party was entertained at an
elegant reception at the homq of the
bride's parehts, The presents were
numerous and beautiful — cut-glass,
silver and China, with' many personal
gifts for (he bride.
Mrs. Fletcher is the only child of
Jud^e and Mrs.. Kitchings, and is a
young woman of ma»y charms who will
be sorely missed hereby many friend*?
Mr. Fletcher is * prosperous young,
business m>fo of Monroe, and is to con
gratulated upon winning ,so lovely a
