Carolina. Its style of editorial is vari

lish. We commend the Weekly Her

advertising medium, and to our people
as a most readable and interesting news
paper.

Amusements of the) Week.?The
present week has been prolific ol amuse
ujt'nts with us. On Monday evening
the drouth of entertainment was refresh
ed by the efforts of a lecturer who held
forth at Firemens Hall. His themes
were Mesmerism, Spiritualism and
general uewfaugleism. The lecturer
appeared to be "in the spirit" but utter
ly failed to memorize or electrify his
auditory. Indeed we learn that his
very unorthodox positions were render.id
untenable by the puugcut queries aud
criticisms of one of his hearers.
On Wednesday and Thursday even
ing the "Klliott Hall'' WSS filled with
a highly entertained audience. "John
Datum's gr^at show" was there Ttte

illusive and amusing. And the Min
strel Delineatiou was really excelic.it
sni most enjoyable. The burlesque of

?el "was very memorable. All who
heard will remember "Lasarsm." Aa

audience were well repaid for their
attendance.
