Judge was elected, who while intensely
republican, would not from his antcccd

people of that section a better feeling
would prevail, nnd the great principles

the judiciary should adnuuist r justice,
under the light of the Il< publican

neither Gon. McGowan, a Democrat of

their individual character, or eminent
their professional ability. The contest
.seems to be narrowed down between
Mr. Northrop of Charleston, Gon. Whip,
per of Hcuufurt, and .Mr. Moray of
