uosday December 11th, A. D. 1872, a
party of our worthy German citizens,
composed of Hon F. II. W. Briggtnauu.
Mayor, M. Albrecht, W. T. Mullor and
Ernest Mc?t?cl, iniproVised a sleigh,
attuched two horses to it, and with tbe
silver tinkle of bell, aud glidiug grace of
motion, rode through tho thoroughfares
of our city, presenting a novel spectacle
for this latitudo, and attracting the cu
riousand admiring gate of our bcuumbcJ
Townsfolk.
The ride was enjoyed'to the full by
the happy party, aud the cteut has
proved that Orangcbtirg is as cosmopoli
tan iu clime and amusement*, as she is
in tbe spirit of her people.
