shoes, hats, and grcorries, hardware
tinware and all other goods kept in a

4. Chew it well, and swallow all the
saliva.
6. Continue this a few weeks, and
you wil1 come off conqueror. Then
thank God for it.

The Governor has commuted the sen
tence of Simon Black, of Lexington
County, from hnnging to impiisonmcnt
in the State Penitentiary for life. Black
was to have boon hung on tho 20 instant
being ouo of the Hatmon, Lexington
County, murderers. His extreme youth
has governed the exercise of Kxocutive
clcmoncy in this case.
