Look Out Liquor Dealers,
We invite the attention Of retail li
quor merchants to life fbl lowing extracts
which we make from the present law of
this State. First, as to what it requires
a person to do before lie can obtain a
License. The law says :
"Seo 2. No person shall be licensed
to keep a taveru, but such as shall be
recommended by at. least sis respectable
freeholders of the neighborhood where
said tavern is proposed to be kept, who
shall certify that the person so reooin
mended by them is of good repute for
honesty and sobriety, snd is know, to

this Chapter, to cause the arrest, by
warrant, under his hand and seal, of
such tavern keeper, retailers, or other so |
otfeuding, and require, as is prescribed
by law? security for his appearauce at j
tho next Court of General Sessions, I
then aod there to answer to the matter
of such complaint, and, in default of se
curity, ,to commit to jail, there to be un
til discharged by due course Of law, and,
to bind, the person making the complaint

matter of information to those who may

us of Rev. Mr. Dann oily'a camp mooting
friend, whom the papers have lately
been vcutilattng, who wished to be*
esteemed a good, pious brother, but who
was constrained to admit, that he still
pursued his old practice.-, of distilling,
selling, aud three times a day, driukiug,
whiskey. He may emigrate, miogTo
among new peopie, connect himself
wit a different newspaper*, but he is on,
ly iosiug time aud wasting hit energies,
till he Washes his face aud hands, puts
on clean clothes, changes his politics,
aod quits distilling, telling and drink,
