? The following is a correct statement of
Cotton- rained by Stevens & Cureton, on lg
acres of stubble land, wbieh woe manured
with 400 pounds of Carolina Fertiliser. Tho
following is the mode of cultivation: It was,
I thoroughly broken op 12 inches deep, and'
laid off in-rows ft} feet wide, and the For-'
tilizer applied i:i tho drill, then bedded on.

day, but owing to the cool and dry weather,

I around with a half shovel and partially
.trimmed out with a boo. Second working
it was run around with a 8 inch grub, I'X
inches long,-and-the middles thrown out with
a sweep 18 inches wide. One furrow to a
row and thinned to a stand with a hoe about
12 inches between the stocks, and after
wards it was ploughed every two- weeks1
with a sweep IS inches wide, and hoed each
time, until it was worked five times.
