Savings Bank of this Slate has recent
ly been engaged in a speculation, which,
to the ordinary observer, might appear
to be somewhat eatsido the tiadteef im

to be pecuniarily brilliant. Tho State,
it seems, has lately been rather bard up

was wanted and Treasurer Parker hit
upon the following plan for raising a
