That every individual or cup.irtnar
ship residing in tho Counties of Charles
ton and Rich hind, designing to carry on
or exercise the business of stock broker,
exchange broker, und bill broker, shall,
and they are hereby, required to pay
into the treasury of their respective
counties, f>r the use of the Stato. the

bowling saloon or ten pin-alley in this
State shall be required to pay into the

every alloy, nnd the sum of too dollars

Provided, however, That this act shall
not bo construed tu apply to billiard

Sec. 3. Every hotel, inn, livery sta
ble, tavern or saloon shall be classified, a ud
rated according to.the rontal valuo thcro
of, and every .keeper or keepers of the
same shall be required to pay into the
county treasury of the county in whioh
such hotel, inn. tavern, or saloon is kept,
for the uso of the State, the sums, ac
cording to said rental values, as follows,
to wit: In all cases where buch rental
value, per year, uhall be ten thousand
dollars or more, such hotel, )un, tavern
or saloon shall pay the sum of threo

wares, merchandise, cummoditios or
effects, as it fust-said, shall pay fifty per

every license granted under this act
shall distinctly specify whether the
party obtaining tho same is or is not
authorized thereby to sell or vend wine,
spiiituous, distilled or" malt liquors. The
above amounts shall be paid in quarter
ly instalments, ou the first day.of April,
July and October, 1S72, and Juuuary,
1873.
Skc. 5. If any poreon or persona shall
have move than one store in which mer
chandise as described iu the foregoing
section, is sold or vended, such person or
persons shall be required to nay the re
spective amounts above specified, accord
ing to class, fur each and e-Very store.

Sec. 7. Every railroad company or
corpotntion iu this State shall be re
quired to pay into the treasury of the
county iu which its principal office
within this State is located, for the use
of the State, the following respective
sums, to wit: Every company or corpor

if carrying on or conducting such busi

Riehlaiid shall be required to pay into
the treasury of such county, for the use
