If any person or pcrsous shall have more than ono store in which mer chandise at: described in the foregoing section, is sold or vended, such person or persons shall be required to pay the re spective amounts above specified, accord ing to class, for each and every store. Every porsou or company selling or vending commodities or mer chandise of any description whatever, at or by public outcry, shall he deemed am auctioneer under this act, and he or they if carrying on or conducting such busi ness in the Counties of CharlefSeu or Uichlniid shall be required to pay into the treasury of such county, for the use of the State, the Bum of one hundred dollars ; and if in any other' county inr this State, the sum of fifty dollars. It shall be tho duty of the frcasurer of each and every courfty In this State, upon the receipt of the first quarterly insalment of the sums speci fied to be paid upou any occupation'or msinai* under the provisions of this act to pive to the person, company or cor poration paying the same a certificate to the Auditor of his county, specifying' the sum paid, and the occupation or business ou which the same was paid ; and r. iid Auditor, upon presentation to him of such certificate, is hereby author ized and directed to issue to the person or -fowptrny, or corporation presenting;* the same, a license authorizing him or them to carry on or conduct auch occu pation or business for the period of one year from ^ho first day of April: Pro titled, That tho qmrtcrly instalments heretofore provided for shall be paid whet) due, or such license, so issued, shall become null and void; fur the issuing of which license said County Auditor shall receive the sum of twenty j-fivo coots from the person, company or corporation receiving tho -Mine, as com pensation for taking the returns and issuing tho licenses provided for in this act ; Vrovulcd, That any person, com or corporation who may commence any ot the occupations or businesses*" specified in this act after the first dsy of April, A.
