The following ia a correct statement of
Cotton raised by Stevons & Cureton.'on 1 J
acres of stubble land, which was manured
with 400 pounds of Carolina Fertilizer. The
following i.i I be mode of cuitivation ; It was
thoroughly broken up 12 inches deep, 'and
laid off ia roves 8| feet wide, and the Fer
tilizer applied in the .drill, then bedded on
it on the l<>th of May, and planted the same
j day, but owing to the cool and dry weather,
did not come up to a stand until about the
'1st of June. First- -working it vraa run
around with a half shovel and partially

it was run around with a 3 inch grub, 1*2
inches lone;, and the middles'thrown out with
a sweep i? inches wide. One furrow to a
row and thinned to a stand with a hoe about

lime, until it.was worked five times. .
