morrow evening at 8 o'elock, in the
Presbyterian Church. Several addresses
will bo delivered on the occasion. All

Association" of Messrs Buttler, Chad
wick A Co. The object of this associa
tion is to furnish lands for immigrants
settling in our State and to invite and
induce them to come. General M. C.
Buttler, and other gentlemen are at its
head. Tho association now propose a
schem to increase its funds. 15O.0OU
tickets are to bo sold, each of which,
besides entitling its holder to admission
during the uext season to the Academy
of Music in Charleston, gives him a
chance at tho Grand Raffle for the

other valuublo money prize. Mr.

Upon the trial of a certain case at the
recent Court for this County, a colored
man not well versed in legal lore, was
heard to explain it, und his conclusions,
