an attempt that is being made by the
Alabama Legislature to repeal the DU

with tho Advocate that divorce should
be granted to a woman who is tiod to "a
drunken brutal wretch," or for wilful
neglect, or adultry ; but not for the one
thousand and one causes proposed by
some of our legislators, wo do not think
The Georgetown Times applauds the
first veto of the session, and declares
that Governor Scott "has done wisely
and well in rebuking the profligate ex
penditures of the County Commissioners
of Georgetown, iu telling them and tho
whole State that there is already a tax
on the county 'for one and a half to two
luiils more than is required to meet the
i current expenses of most other counties
in the State/ and so far as he is able, he
will put a stor>to tho wild career of those
who are disposed to indulge in reckless

The now well known Etiwan Guano ia manufactured from the Native Bone
Phosphates of South Carolina. These. Phosphate? in iknir natural state are Inso
luble, and require to be ground to powder, and made Soluble by Sulphuric Aoid.
This Company have now in operation the largest Sulphudo Aoid Chambers at the
South, and are, therefore, able to manufacture at the lowest rates, the highest
grade of Fertiliser: It being clear that the greater the proportion of Soluble
Phosphate whioh any Fertilizer contains, the less the quantity required per acre.
In order to make tho Fertilizer oomplcte Ammonia and ?e*auh in sufficient quanti
ties are added. "With these views the Company mauufaui?t? uud offer for sale

Warranted to contain from 15 to 20 per Cent, of Dissolved Bone Phosphate of
Lime, and from 2 to 2$ per Cent, of Ammonia, with a sufficient addition of Peru

870 per ton, and interest 7 per cent, per annum. ?

Of high grade, suitable for Manufacturers or Planlns, being in itself an excellent
