POLICIES IN THIS STATE. Section 1. De it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Slate of South Carolina, now met ami sitting in Gen eral Assembly, and by the authority of the same: ' No Company or Association which is now organised, or which may bu hereaf ter organized in this State, to carry ou the busincsscf insurance of any kind or kinds, ??hull proceed further with business (as the easy may be) until they have deposited with the Comptroller General of this State bonds or stocks of this Stale equal to the sum of fifty thousand dollars nur value for each Life insurance Company or Association, and twenty thousand dollar;? par value for each other Insurance Company or Association. The Comptroller General shall hold such bonds or stocks as security for policy holders in the Company or Association ; but. so long as any l ompany or Association to depositing shall continue solvent, the Comptroller Gen eral may permit Mich Company to collect aud receive the interest ou such bonds or Btocks'so deposited' Sr.c. '2. Whenever any Company or Asso ciation is, or shall, become fully organized, and the said Company or \ss ciation have deposited with the Comptroller Gonorul the requisite amount of State bunds or Stocka, it. shall become his duty to furnish the Corpora tion c(Association with a certificate of such deposit, which certificate or duplicate thereof certified by the Comptroller General, may be used in and bo evidence for and against tho Corporation.
