There is an alarming prospect of financial troubles. Planters will fiud themselves in serious difficulty next winter if thoy do not look sharp. Larceny Fhoiu tub Mail.?Andrew Summers (colored) on Monday last, played some pranks on a letter, scut by Mr. E. Ecckicl, through him to be mailed and registered, which wcro more eccentric than honest. Tho letter cot. tained a sum of money which Andrew kuuw of and coveted. Chi his way to the office, ho substituted another letter in place of the ono containing the money Returning to Mr. Ezckicl, he prc 1 tended to have lust the receipt for the registered letter. This suggested sus picion, and Andrew being examined the sum contained in the letter ($15 do) was found in his- bo?t. Thus ended his bootlegs attempt to be dishonest.
