lizers used in this vicinity, from the fact
that the crops of cotton were not suffi
ciently matured to enable nie to form an
accurate opinion. We were then in the
midst of a drouth without parallel for
?duration and severity in the memory of
the oldest inhabitant. Not a rain from
first of May till last of August, and tbc

in capacity to endure long and severe

stratum, at the rate of 250 lbs. per acre,
