hearth ami each heart in their joy at
their success iu the battle of duty, and
in the bright phases and incideuts that
make homo and life happy ; and touched

More Big Turnips.?Mr. Henry
Rickcnbackor, of St. Matthews, raises
as lurgo turnips as "any other man," and
wauts us to kuow it. Last Suturday ho
brought into our "Sanctum" a lot of
eight, whito flats and ruta-bagas, ono
weighing 6$ pounds, another 5i pounds
without tho tops. The whole lot of
eight weighed 42 pouuds. Protty good

The day mouiorial of the birth of Jesus
Christ upon this earth, ij well regarded
the gladdest one iu its oalondar. It is
tneet that wo should bo merry ; that
every heart should express its joy In its
own way, that all should rejoice.
The busy stir of preparation for mer
riment has been henrd and scon in our
streets during the week pnst, and wo can
realise the carrying out the bright de
signs to-day.
It has been the oustom of Christmas,
immcmorinlly, to gladden friends and
loved cues with some little gift or token.

joy and good will, charity is well-timed
