A Touching Sukne.?Ou Friday af
ternoon of the 9th tust., at the Baptist
i Church, was enacted a scene whoso Bolt
and touching beauty has not yet passed
from our memory. It was the funeral ol'
little Roberl II. Wiles, eldest BOU of our
follow townenmu Mr. Hold II. Wiles.
A procession of his Bchool-matoa, the
pupils of Miss Albergotti, followed the
bier of their little comrade from his
fathers residence to the Church, and
each ouo of the little mourners bore a
wreath of living llowers, twitted by their
0?vn little hands to dork his grave.
After tin; funeral services, including
a solemn and impressive address by the
Rbv. Dr. buVhnm, were concluded, the
! remains of the little fellow were carried

terred in solemn silence, the group of

in soft and silent sorrow, their bright
eves downcast, as they gazed upoii a

ings, placed there by childhood's tiny

thrilling hope to those who mourned
their little one. They wrote the epitaph

dence of the Rov. i\Jr. Wils:,n in that
placo, Was consumed by fire. The build
ing was tho proporty or the Methodist
Church, and was totally destroyed.
The conduct of tho Bamberg Fire
Company is spoken of in the highest
terms. Their prompt repairing to the
BOene, and energy displayed in their ef
fort to save the property of tho neigh
bors, is represented as being worthy of all
praise. In their efforts to extinguish,
they certainly distinguished themselves.
