These divisions will occur in these nominating conventions again. Let us be ready by having conciliated a sufli ctont number of colored voters to secure the election of Anti-Radicals, and thus take pno step to redeem our State. - i ... From the report of the Department Agriculturo at Washington, which is i correspondence with all parts of th country, we gather as follows: Ther have'been generally great drouths in th Atlantic 6tatcs, excessive rains in th ! south-Western states more heat generali ,' in 1869 than 18t>8, consequently cropp have been seriously ufTccted. The corn crop is a very short one in all the states exoept Nobraska, Kansas, Florida, Loui siana, Arkansas and Texas; mostol these nro not largo producing states. Unless the close of tho season provo very favor able tho total crop will fall short of 150 000,000 bushels. Cott.-u will be short from Virginia to Alabama, and increased from Mississippi to Texas, on the whole not more than in 18G9 6ay 2,500,000 bales.?Wheat, except in Illinois, Michi gan, Iowa, California, shows an increase. Grain is generally good at tho west, and at the south superior. Fruit? geuerally a full crop, except apples, theso are short in tho eastern State?. Hogs probably decreased in number Gvo or ten percent, and in weight a decrease of say five per cent.?Potatoes, onions, and root crops, generally an increase, its also beans, pea?j,.| and smaller orops. Ou tho whole, wo may count on a high prioe for corn, meat and cottoo, moderate prices for wheat and flour, and low rates for potatoes, etc. As our exports other than cotton, to bacco, rice and naval stores arc confiued to corn, bacon, pork yd flour, nod crops la iSurope are good, wc ?"wA?i Dot esperf much except southern products, and these will consequently rulo at good tfguros. The south will furuish most of the articles for exportation and of coarse bt) the recipient of the benefit of good prices. Reviewing the above facts wo seo that the north, as she cannot export ioanufacturod articles, nor still agricultural products, must look to the southern production for the great bulk of exportation. It is this fact that, no doubt, has Btimulalcd north ern capitalists to iuvestigato southern routes for speedy transportation of soulh orn produce to the northoru ports. Four hundred millions of produce is worth looking to in tho way of freighting through the country, and the freighting ou tho ocean, as also tho commission for handling in its transit. The products of the Southern States are the future source of wealth to tho country, all else raised only supplies home consumption, and leaves no surplus to pay for foreign im portations. Hor.b Back Vorn Cotton.?A gentle man just returned from New York, has hud great experience n? * cotton buyer, uud has really done nothing else sinco tho war closed, informed the M'ucoli Telegraph that tho planlers of the South wore now playing into the bauds of the speculators most admirably, in rushing, their cotton on the market. It was just what the New York speculators and buy ers wanted. Thro? weeks ago cotton was firm in New York at 35 beute per pound but just so soon as the planters got ready to sell, the price receded to 21) and 30 cents, with h strong effort on the part of the bears to still further reduce it. This gentleman stated that there was not a cotton buyer in New York, of any in teltigence or reliability, who do^s not.be lieve that, cotton will go to 35 or 40 cents per pound in that tri :rket by or be fore tho first of next May; aud they candidly and openly express such an opinion among themselves;and are laugh ing in their sleeves' at the rush the plan-' fers arc now making upon the market, dust so soon as the bulk of the cotton crop is out of the hands of (ho planters, and a close guess can be made of thcv year's crop, theu you will see a reaction in the price that will astonish you.
