villo Enterprise says:
Judge Orr has rendered an adverse
decision in the case of John H. Walker
v?. Mary J. Walker, petition for divorce.
The ease has been held under considera
tion since last court, and the legal pro
fession will be indebted to the Judge for
the very learned and able opinion in the
case. We have examined this opinion ;
ft will form h land-mark in Ait Uro cas**.
The Judge distinctly indicates that the
Court of Equity of th|s State always had
the power to exercise jurisdiction in di
vorce cases*. We have long been of tho
opinion, notwithstanding the uniform
disclaimers of the Judge, and hare ab
ways believed that a Court of Equity
could and ought to bare granted divorces
wbero there existed the icriptnral justi
fication. It ia manifest that Judge Orr
would restrict tie granting of divorces
to cases or the moat aggravated character,
and he would not suit Chicago Or the
State of Connecticut.
